Make it Personal!
Make your invitations a little more personal by uploading your own images! It's an easy process and it adds that little touch of personality.
For personal invitations such as birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, or graduation, add a picture of the person of honor!
For business invitations, add a picture of your featured speaker...spotlight an employee...even add a picture of the boss!
We recommend the ideal size of the image be 15K to 20K, but no larger than 50K and in the standard .gif or .jpg format. If your image is larger than this, it could take extra time for it to download when your recipients view the invitation. This means they'll be looking at a blank square for a little longer than you'd probably like!
If your image is larger than recommended, you can contact us to resize it for you if you're unsure how to do it yourself. Please do this prior to mailing out your invitations.
To upload your image, click to highlight the invitation on which you would like to include the image from your account page, then click the EDIT button to enter the Design Center. If you already have an image in place click the image and then click the Insert Image button located in the toolbar. (It looks like a framed picture of a landscape) The Image Picker window will open. At the bottom of this page you can select a file to upload. Either type in the location or Browse and select the image, then click on the Upload button.
Once the image has been uploaded you can select it from your collection of images and it will replace the image you have previously clicked on from the invitation. You can do a little resizing by clicking the image with your mouse and then 'dragging' the sides or corners to your specifications.
Send Mail Options
There a couple of little-known options for sending your invitation email.
Name Substitution You can add the name of each of your recipients into the invitation email. (NOT in the actual invitation.) This is the email that gets sent out letting your recipients know they've received an invitation from you. You must have each person's name listed with their email address in your SendAnInvite Address Book.
To add names, open your Address Book from the red bar at the top of your account page. Click on the email address that you're adding the name to, and fill in the name fields. Make sure you use appropriately capitalized letters.
When you're ready to send the email, not only can you add a message to the invitation email, you can also add each recipients' name.
To include their first name only, use $FIRSTNAME$ (no spaces - all caps).
To include both first and last name use $FIRSTNAME$ $LASTNAME$ (no spaces except for between the two $'s - all caps).
Make sure to use all capital letters with no spaces, and if using both names make sure you have a space only between the two substitution tags.
Always test this out by sending to yourself first! Please feel free to contact us if you need help with this function.
From Options When sending your invitation email, you have options as to what is in the FROM field of the email. These options can be set when you're in the Send Mail section.
If you have a personal account (without Business Options) you have the option of either your email address or SendAnInvite in the FROM line.
If you have Business Options and have included the name of your business, you have the options of your email address, your business name, or SendAnInvite.
NOTE: If you're sending to business email addresses, you may want to consider using the SendAnInvite option instead of your email address or your business. The reason for this is the SPAM filters will sometimes junk an email if the FROM name is different than the SENDER name. SendAnInvite is always the SENDER. However, when sending to personal email addresses, using your email address (or business) will add familiarity for the recipient therefore will be more likely to be opened and viewed.
We hope all our US customers have a very happy Thanksgiving!
