Some things deserve repeating...especially for those who are recent members to SendAnInvite's service! Here are a couple of tidbits worth remembering from previous editions.
When's the best time to send my invitations?
We all know that it's important to give your invitation recipients adequate notice for an event. But there are also certain days of the week that are better for emailing than others.
Traditionally, Mondays and Fridays are two of the worst days to send email. Especially for business email addresses, these are the busiest days of the week at the office. Monday people are gearing up for the week and possibly taking care of the mass of email they've received over the weekend. Friday, people are just anxious to get out of work. With both of these days, it's very likely you're invitation will be seen, but the "I'll respond later" factor hits a high note and your recipient is more likely to forget to take action.
Although Tuesdays aren't bad, the best days are Wednesdays and Thursdays. This is when people generally are more likely to respond.
If you are sending to business email addresses, try to avoid sending your invitation out on weekends. Chances are, it will just get buried in the email pile-up!
Using Your Own Time Zone
Have you noticed that if you mouse over a name on your RSVP list you get a small time stamp box that tells you exactly when that person responded? Have you noticed the time isn't your time zone? Now you can set the appropriate time zone for your account!
Just log into your account and go to the Account Settings link located in the left menu bar. In the bottom of the area for your address you'll see a Time Zone setting. Just choose the option that fits your zone and your time stamps will reflect your current and correct time.
Adding Links
There are a couple of ways you can add links to the body of the invitation. If the URL is short, the easiest way is to just type it right in! To give it that familiar link look, the underlining and that usual blue color, just hit the space bar after your last character.
Another method is to click on the link button from within the Editor. It looks like a link of chain... . Just enter the URL and some "Friendly Text" and click the Insert Link button.
From here, you also have the option to have the target of the link open in a new window (defaulted preferred method), or open in the same window as the invitation, as well as add a link that points to another one of your invitations.
