New Page Layouts

As always, we're working hard to continue to improve the SendAnInvite service for all of you! We've just added a second layout! Now you not only have choices for the theme, images, and the design of your invitations/announcements, you also have a choice in the overall layout!

In the original "Layout 1" the RSVP, Map, Guest Comments, Print and Forward buttons are lined up at the top of the page by default. In your Invitation Settings, you have the option to move the button bar to the bottom of the invitation, show the bar at the top AND bottom, or not show them at all. This has been a very good layout as the focus is on your invitation.

The new "Layout 2" option gives more of a web-site look. This layout contains info-boxes just to the right of the main body of the invitation/announcement. The first info-box is a "Call To Action" area that helps to prompt the recipients to RSVP. The RSVP, Map, Guest Comments, Print, etc are no longer buttons. Instead they are presented as links in the second info-box. The third info-box is the Host information box which can contain contact information, an introduction area for the event Host (an individual or a company), or for seminars this area can be used as a spotlight for a guest speaker!

Within the next few weeks "Layout 2" will also have a new feature. Soon you'll be able to collect fees for event tickets or admission fees right from your invitation! We're really excited about this new addition to the SendAnInvite Feature Family! I know there are a few of you that will be as excited about this feature as we are, don't worry.. you have just a little longer to wait!

Keep watching the Tips & Tricks as we'll be releasing more information about this new feature as we get closer to release!

Name Substitutions

Did you know you can add the name of each of your recipients into the invitation email? (NOT in the actual invitation.) This is the email that gets sent out letting your recipients know they've received an invitation from you. You must have each person's name listed with their email address in your SendAnInvite Address Book.

To add names, open your Address Book from the red bar at the top of your account page. Click on the email address that you're adding the name to, and fill in the name fields. Make sure you use appropriately capitalized letters.

When you're ready to send the email, not only can you add a message to the invitation email, you can also add each recipients' name.

To include their first name only, use $FIRSTNAME$ (no spaces - all caps).

To include both first and last name use $FIRSTNAME$ $LASTNAME$ (no spaces except for between the two $'s - all caps).

Make sure to use all capital letters with no spaces, and if using both names make sure you have a space only between the two substitution tags.

Always test this out by sending to yourself first! Please feel free to contact us if you need help with this function.
