Overflow Invitations
Here's the scenario; you're hosting an event such as a seminar or a class. There's only room for a certain amount of attendees, but you'd like to take RSVPs for everyone that's interested so you can arrange for a second seminar or class. How do you do this without going over the attendee limit of the first seminar/class?
Overflow Invitations are the answer!
Step 1: Create the original invitation as you normally would.
Step 2: Create a second invitation for this event to be used as the overflow of recipients. Add in some kind of text that explains that a second seminar or class will be or may be held for this topic. Create this invitation the way you would any invitation complete with your desired RSVP and Map settings.
Step 3: Go into your invitation settings for the original invitation by clicking on the invitation name to highlight it from your account page, and click on the SETTINGS button. Then, in your invitation settings under the RSVP link, you'll see the RSVP Limits section about mid-way down the page. Check the box and enter the number of the TOTAL guests for the event. Let's say your event can accommodate 50 people. Once the "Yes" and "Maybe" (if "maybe's" are used) RSVP count equals 50, no one else will be allowed to RSVP for this event. A drop-down box will appear under this setting. Choose your second invitation created for the overflow from the drop-down list. Save and close.
What will happen is this: Once your original invitation's RSVPs have hit the limit, the recipient will get a message stating all spaces for this event have been filled. The recipient has the option to go to an alternative invitation which would be your Overflow invitation. RSVPs will be accepted for the overflow the same way they are normally accepted, unless you've entered any kind of RSVP limits for this specific invitation.
You can try this out for yourself! Just enter the RSVP Total Guest limit of an invitation to one (1) and set up an overflow invitation. Email the original invitation to yourself and RSVP as you normally would. The first RSVP will be accepted (unless there are other RSVPs entered for the original invitation.) The second time you try to RSVP, you'll hit the Overflow.
It sounds a little confusing, but give it a try. Of course if you need assistance, please let us know!
Font Styles
Every once in a while we get email requesting a certain font style to be added to the system. While we try to accommodate as many as possible, there are some issues to be aware of when using non-standard font styles.
Even if you use a unique font on your invitation and it looks perfect to you, please know that some of your recipients may not have this same font style installed on their computer. As a result, they won't see that fabulous font. Instead, the font style gets replaced on the recipient's side with an alternative style so they can still read your invitation.
Wishing you a Happy Holiday!
